McKensey K. Brock

Bio: McKensey has spent her entire legal career at Terpening Law, during which time she has grown from the Firm’s legal assistant into her role as the firm’s lead paralegal and office manager. McKensey is the first point of contact that many clients have with the firm, and works diligently to promote our clients’ interests every day, both in court and in the office.

Education: McKensey received her Paralegal degree from Central Piedmont Community College.

Associate Attorney

Connor D. Reid

Bio: Connor Reid is an Associate from Cornelius, North Carolina. He focuses primarily on complex-fraud related litigation, both civil and criminal.

Connor has experience working on matters involving: Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”) fraud; mail, wire, and healthcare fraud; criminal and civil false claims; parallel proceedings; Ponzi schemes; FINRA arbitration; cryptocurrency; fraudulent transfers; and professional malpractice.

Legal Assistant

Mary Kate Schmidlin

Bio: Kate is originally from Lenoir, North Carolina, and now serves as the firm’s legal assistant. She is responsible for providing effective communication, administrative support for the staff, and creating strong client relationships. While in school, Kate interned with the New Hanover County CSI Division. She was able to observe evidence collection and gain exposure to legal standards. Kate hopes to advance into a paralegal role within the firm one day. Away from the office, Kate enjoys playing pickleball and spending time with her family.
